JULY 4TH SPIRIT OF SANDWICH PARADE
Squirting/spraying or throwing water by spectators, residents along
the parade route, and parade participants is NOT ALLOWED!
NO EXCEPTIONS!
The Sandwich Recreation Dept. asks for total compliance
by everyone attending the July 4th festivities!
We want everyone to have fun…SAFETY FIRST!
SQUIRT GUNS OF ANY KIND/SIZE ARE BANNED FROM
THE SANDWICH JULY 4TH PARADE!!!!!
SQUIRTING WATER IS BANNED!!!!
NO WATER BALLOONS!!!
The only water allowed at the parade…… is drinking water!

JULY 4TH 3-MILE ROAD RACE - This is a fun run!!
REGISTRATION FEE: $5.00 DONATION
*Runners must be 13 years of age or older, unless
accompanied by an adult.*
When: Thursday, July 4th
Where: parking lot @ the Wing School, 33 Water Street
Registration: 7:00AM to 8:15AM
** RACE BEGINS AT 8:30AM SHARP **
Registration takes place on July 4th.
~ Road Race T-Shirts are available on race day for a $15.00 donation.
Trophies will be awarded for the 1st place overall winners in the
men’s and women’s category only. The first 400 runners will receive a
ribbon to commemorate the race.

‘SPIRIT OF SANDWICH’ 4TH OF JULY PARADE
To Enter: Everyone (businesses, groups, organizations, antique cars, individuals, families, neighborhoods, etc.) is invited to participate in the Spirit of Sandwich parade. Children may walk or ride their decorated bikes.
No battery or gas powered children’s vehicles are allowed.
All who wish to enter a float, group, antique car, etc. must contact
Sandwich Recreation @ 508-888-4361 to register and
receive further instructions.
Registration Deadline: June 29, 2013
When: Thursday, July 4th—parade begins at 10:00AM
Where: front parking lot @ the Wing School, 33 Water Street
Cost: Free
Parade Route: Down Water Street to Old Main Street, right on Beale Avenue, left on Morse Road, and finishing at the fields behind the Wing School.

OUR RENOWNED ‘EGG TOSS’ & PICNIC IN THE PARK
Beginning at 11:30 AM, after the Spirit of Sandwich Parade, stick around for our famous Egg Toss event. Bring a lunch and enjoy that old time ‘picnic in the park’ experience.
The Lions Club will be selling refreshments.
to help beat the July heat!
It’s fun to participate; and its fun to watch!!

MUSTER EVENTS
At 1:00PM...Henry T. Wing School grounds. The Sandwich Fire Department’s famous Muster Events will take place! There will be water games for people of all ages, followed by… THE FOAM!

BAND CONCERT @ SHAWME POND BAND STAND
7:30PM to 9:30PM
“Dale & The Duds” are returning for another night of “oldies but goodies” musical fun. They’ll be at the Shawme Pond Bandstand behind Town Hall. “Dale & The Duds” play list will entertain both young and old. A great way to end a busy 4th of July day. Be sure to bring a chair, blanket and your dancing shoes!
THIS IS AN ALCOHOL-FREE EVENT.

BOAT PARADE @ SHAWME POND
9:00PM
Did you know the Sandwich Boat Parade has been around since the late 1800’s? The Boat Parade is comprised of small boats and canoes decorated in creative ways using paper lanterns illuminated by candles. The boats will parade by the bandstand for all to see the night of July 4th. Winners will be selected by members of the Recreation Department and Recreation
Committee.

Department for information. Materials (strapping, paper lanterns, candles, twine & wire) will be supplied.
